Mr. Safchik is the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Greenstreet Partners, and a founder of Greenstreet Real Estate Partners, a company engaged in the business of real estate investment. He also serves as a founding partner of Athos Capital.
Mr. Safchik has more than 35 years of extensive financial and tax experience involving acquisitions, structuring of debt and equity investments, strategic planning, and asset management across a diversified set of asset classes, including the acquisition and sale of real estate properties with a value in excess of $8B.
Mr. Safchik has served as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of a publicly listed investment company traded on the Singapore Stock Exchange; Chairman and CEO of a privately held $1B portfolio of education related real estate properties; Director of a national childcare education company; and structured and negotiated the acquisition of a $100M preferred investment in a leading U.S. based financial services company, ownership of the largest privately held rail car and locomotive leasing company in North America, ownership of a regulated public utility gas provider, and ownership of the largest Jones Act compliant integrated shipping company in the U.S. which included brown/blue water fleets and the third largest coal terminal in the U.S.
Mr. Safchik graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (majoring in Accounting) from Pace University, New York, and obtained a Master’s degree in Taxation from St. John’s University, New York. Prior to entering the private sector, Mr. Safchik was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the States of New York and Florida. During the course of his career, he attended advanced finance and real estate courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and New York University.
